Asus Eee PC 1015PN
The Asus Eee PC 1015PN definitely lives up to Asus's reputation for style, and performance. It packs a dual-core Intel Atom processor, Nvidia Ion graphics, plus 1GB of RAM, upgrade-able to 2GB. 1GB of RAM may not seem like much, but combined with the processor and the discrete graphics chip, this netbook definitely measures up to the competition
There are a few drawbacks to this netbook, such as the operating system, which limits the graphics technology. What I mean by this, is that this netbook is equipped with Nvidia Optimus technology, which means that the graphics should switch between the integrated graphics, and the discrete graphics chip automatically. With Windows 7 Starter, the technology doesn't work, meaning that you have to switch them manually, and you must reboot the computer when you are done. In order to make the Nvidia Optimus technology work, you must upgrade the operating system to a full version of Windows 7 That isn't a major ordeal, but when you buy something, everything on it should work without having to spend more money. Other than that, this netbook is definitely a good choice for anyone who wants a netbook with a little extra oomph.
Pros
The best thing about this netbook, in my opinion is the processor, which is a dual core Intel Atom. The next good thing is the graphics chip, which is a Nvidia Ion chip, and you can switch between the built in graphics and the Ion chip, allowing for maximum performance and battery life.
Cons
My main problem with this netbook is the fact that it only comes with Windows 7 Starter, instead of a full version of Windows 7.
